Working on our Fitness, Makeup that is!

Hey bloggers, this week I wanted to share with you some amazing photos from a fitness shoot I did a while back. With fitness sometimes hair and make up can be a challenge. With this particular shoot, Kim, our model was submitting photos to several fitness magazines to  get her name out in the industry in hopes of doing more shoots just like this one. She knew exactly what she was going for. Kim wanted to come across as natural and herself. For hair we did her usual, down and straight. For her make up we did airbrush make up, that was a given, and and neutral colors; browns and grays to compliment her blue eyes. We added just a half set of lashes for a little pop for the pictures and finished with a light lip. Beautiful! Take a look..

Our First “How to” Video!!!

Happy First Day of Spring!   Hope everyone enjoying the beautiful spring weather!  I wanted to personally post our very first Studio 2 Beauty Blog “how to” video!   We are so excited about the response we have had with the blog and love bringing you trends, tips and features.   We love to hear from you and what you are interested in knowing when it comes to hair and makeup.  So leave some love and any burning questions you may have or “how to’s” you’d like to see!

Pinterest Love

  So I am sure most of you are familiar with Pinterest. The newest social-media site designed for you to share “pins” of your favorite anything’s and everything’s! Like recipes, photography, vacation destinations, clothing and my favorite, HAIR AND MAKE UP. This site has literally monopolized the time of many women in the last couple of months and addiction is an understatement when I say we are addicted! Just as a guess I’d say the average woman spends about 5 hours a week at least on Pinterest planning her next shopping experience, redecorating their dream mansion (ha), or my favorite example; planning their wedding. From Hair and make up to the colors, seating arrangements and decor, you can literally plan your entire wedding all in one place. This is the newest go-to site for inspiration. No more google searches on up dos, hair color ext. Now you can search in one place within the best-of the-best photo pins already saved by girls just like you. That way you can guarantee what you get is trendy, modern and fresh. So, I encourage you all to start a board today, get your creative juices flowing and pin away!

BEAUTY BLAST TIP: 103 Super Simple, Inexpensive Exfoliater!!!

BEAUTY BLAST TIP :

Feeling kind of dull from the winter need a little pick me up ….how about a

LEMON SUGAR  FACIAL SCRUB …AHHHH  I feel glowy already !!!

All your  going to need is:

• Lemons or pure lemon juice
• Sugar  (finely granulated)
• Cotton balls or cotton rounds

DIRECTIONS :

Rinse your face with warm water  to open up your pores then apply the lemon juice

And sugar onto the cotton, apply to face in circular motions …THAT’S IT !!

• Your skin will feel awesome !! The AHA and BHA acids will help exfoliate, lighten dark spots, help acne and improve the overall condition of your skin !!

The Special Event: Part 1

      Lights , camera ,TSE … The Special Event that is!!! An amazing venue set up ffor vendors of the industry to show off  their  talent , and Studio 2 was front and center!  We were asked by the amazing Vicky Anglo of Anglo Coutoure to do hair and make up for the bridal and fashion event .         

      Marissa will be covering the hair and makeup side, so stay tuned for part 2!  But today I will be covering the event side.

  Four themes played a role in this event Earthy Glitz , Country  Chic, Modern Organic and Moroccan Vintage. Each theme had an ornate scene where each bride and bridesmaid were displayed . The live music of the evening was  an opera singer, who was perched atop a gigantic staircase with a crimson red  gown that billowed and cascaded down the stairs.  A sea of romance flowed from the décor from the red flowers and fabric draped from the ceiling to the candles and water fall that was nothing short of breathtaking and this was just the cocktail room.

 

The Dining area where the vendors and spectators partook in food drinks and conversation , which I have no doubt consisted of  Oooohhhhs  and aaaahhhhs at the ornate tables and décor.  Each section of tables having the feel of  the 4 themes of  the night.  A big shout out to the amazing Lori and Jessica from Simply Divine Events who worked countless hours that week to put it all together!  They pulled it off in a big way!

 

To sum it up FABULOUS-NESS (yes I said fabulous-ness)  that’s what this night was , it gave me a whole new appreciation of the detail and efforts that go into weddings and other events of this nature …..so keep in mind The Special Event and their amazing vendors for your next special event.

Beauty Blast 101

Whether it’s Winter, Spring, Summer or Fall…A Red Lip suits them ALL !!!

                                           

But which red is right for you? Here’s the scoop:

If you have a warmer complexion you want to stick to true reds or pinkish reds.

For cooler complexions try brown, brick or rusty reds.

When rocking a red lip, make the rest of you face makeup more subtle (you don’t want to detract from those fab red lips!!!)

Last and most important, wear those red lips with confidence!  Back up those stop and stare at me lips with a stand up straight, head held high, thousand watt smile!!!

TSE, Part 2: Behind the scenes

         So as you all already know Collective Creations and Jess Waldrop Makeup Artists got to be a part of The Special Event  hosted by the Florida State Fairgrounds Convention Center on January 26^th.   This event, as Crystal said, was just spectacular from the décor to the performances and, OF COURSE, down to the styling crew on hair and makeup.  So since the event was so amazing we didn’t want to sell it short by not getting into some hair and makeup details.   This blog will be dedicated to the behind the scenes aspect of the show.

The whole studio 2 team was able to be a part of the event, which was very special considering it isn’t often we get to collaborate on projects of this caliber.   Holly and myself were on hair and with us was our newest team member May, who did an amazing job prepping us to work our magic.   On makeup we had Jess Waldrop herself along with her A -team Crystal Eller and Nicole Boyle. Our objective for the show was to create runway styles to compliment the 2012 spring line by Anglo Couture wedding gowns. The themes we styled for were Country Chic, Modern Organic, Earthy Glitz, and Moroccan Vintage. These themes gave us a wide range of artistic flexibility and room to show off our runway style updos!!  Here are some pictures from behind the scenes.

 So here is a trend that has spread from magazine covers and the red carpet to office chic and night life glam-The classic braid- It has SO made a comeback in the last 6 months, I couldn’t help but sharing some super cute ways to incorporate them into your look. From clean or messy to long or short, there is something for everyone to love.  I can guarantee that you will see this look all over the beaches this coming summer so watch your youtube how-to videos ladies!

Beauty Blast Tip 101

So here is a beauty tip all deserve to know, nail polish setting! Yes, you can set your polish by simply running cold water over them once you finish painting!

Here is the right way to do it.

1. Polish,

2. Wait  30-45 seconds, once you are done painting.

3. Run under cold water for 1 minute. Once the minute is up your nails should be completely dry.

We Are Published!

So this week I have so many things I want to blog about, but THIS must be blogged first!  Collective Creations is published in Eco-Weddings 2011 winter edition! I am so thrilled as this is a first for my own work to be published!  This shoot was done in beautiful downtown St. Pete at the Nova 535 event venue. I worked with Vicki of Anglo Coutoure, Lauren Grove of Every Last Detail, shoot designer and Jason Mize photography inc.   The theme of the shoot was dark; Grays, blacks and lots of lit candles for a romantic glow. Lauren did an amazing job making every detail in this shoot flow perfectly. This is a very gorgeous palette for a 2012 winter wedding ladies with TONS of DYI ideas.

For hair, I did a full side-pony with loose curls and an elegant, sweeping fringe around the models face.  For make-up we did airbrush for a clean, flawless and porcelain look with bold black and grey shadows for a dark smoky eye and of course a full set of lashes.  On her cheeks I gave just enough color to bring some color to the shots.  And lastly, her lip, we kept them nude with a light reflecting gloss.  Check out the amazing results of the shoot.
